School Traffic Pattern Updates
As you know, we have made changes and adjustments to our car loop lane to help to create a safe and orderly drop off and pick up. Please read the attached flyer about the traffic pattern so that you can help us keep our children safe here at Welleby.
i-Ready Online Instruction Program
We are excited to announce the launch of the i-Ready online instruction program!! This program is designed to provide explicit instruction geared to your child's needs. This week all grade levels have begun taking the Diagnostic Test for both reading and math. Your child's performance on this test determines their placement on lessons in this program.
Once your child has completed the diagnostic test, they are ready to begin their lessons. To access the program, follow the instructions below. Note: You must be using a device that has Flash in order to access it.
1. Log in to the i-Ready website: click here
2. User name is the student's student ID number (the same number used to log in to Virtual Counselor). This number begins with a "0" however, for this program, you DO NOT use the zero. Instead, begin with the "6" (EXAMPLE: 612987654)
3. Password is the student's birth date--two digits for the month, two digits for the day, and the full year (EXAMPLE: 08302007)
4. The first time you log in, select the state: "Florida" (you will only need to do this once). Click "GO"
5. Click the button: START LESSONS
If the student has not completed the diagnostic test, they will not see this button. They can switch between reading and math lessons by clicking the "Switch to _____" button at the top of their home page.
If you have any questions, please contact your child's teacher or Mrs. Haynes for more information.

Sunrise Chess Club
The City of Sunrise has launched an innovative plan to further promote chess in the schools and community of the city: THE SUNRISE CHESS CLUB.
Beginning September 21, 2013, every Saturday morning from 10 AM – Noon, they will open the Civic Center for supervised and FREE open play for fun. This will be an opportunity for players to meet new players and potentially get some guidance from more experienced players.
This program will supplement the great work of school-based chess clubs and the City of Sunrise Leisure Services Department's annual chess tournaments. In addition, it will offer an opportunity for High School Students interested in Chess to volunteer and earn service hours (while maybe giving some of the younger and less experienced chess players some guidance and insight).
Again, this is FREE. Click HERE to view the attached flyer about this program.
